70 A challenging book to read and a wonderful one. The story touches on two difficult aspects of life that never leaves the persons involved or their families, even friends, untouched. Ms. Spredemann spent time in prayer before and during the writing. I don't know that because she told me or wrote it-- but because of the wisdom in how these difficult subjects are handled.And Sammy ... who would not want a Sammy in their circle? Wisdom, yes. But more than that, Sammy is able to deliver information, sometimes difficult to hear, in such a way that it is always done with love. I want a Sammy.At one point during the reading, I stopped for over 24 hours and had to decide if I was even going to finish it. I told you the topics are challenging. Difficult. It's not that for me it hit home. But by that time in the story, I was invested in these characters. I wanted GOOD for them. And frankly, I do not read downer books anymore.But another reviewer wrote that she too almost quit but finally went on. And I did as well, for the same reason. This is *not* the first J.E.B.
